Paul Mahoney: | Hi. As many of you know, I’m Paul Mahoney, managing director at Nova Financial. We’re a property and finance advisory company. Today I’m going to talk to you about the difference between investing in property and buying a home. |
When it comes to investing in property, you should be extremely commercially minded and unemotional. The investment should be solely based upon the fundamentals and what the target market wants. What’s going to create the most financial benefit for you, as opposed to what you like or want.
When you’re buying a home, you’re very emotional. You need somewhere where you’re comfortable. Not just a property but a home and therefore it is all about what you want and need, as opposed to when it comes to investing, it’s really nothing to do with what you want and need.
Now some people struggle to make that separation. I’d be more than happy to discuss this with you on a one on one basis, so far as how you can separate those two things and essentially view property as a vehicle for wealth or a tool for achieving financial goals, as opposed to it really being property.
I look forward to talking with you next time and if you think we might be able to help at all, then please do feel free to get in touch. |
